The Best Spots for Hot Matcha in Miami
Share
Not every matcha order needs to be iced. If you're the type who wants your matcha warm, whether it's a chilly Miami morning (they do exist, occasionally) or you just prefer it that way, here's where to actually get a proper hot matcha across the city, plus a couple of Broward stops worth the drive.
South Miami / Kendall
Honey Veil (5748 Sunset Dr) is the viral one, started by sisters Cecilia and Regina Alcobe-Garibay out of a trailer, now a full storefront with lines wrapping the building on weekends. You can request it hot. Next door, Cecile Bakery + Cafe (5744 Sunset Dr) is a solid backup, and Tea & Poets (5701 Sunset Dr) does matcha hot or cold. Lucky Coffee Co., a bright green trailer, roams the Kendall and South Miami area, worth asking if they'll do it hot.
Coconut Grove
Il Giardino at Mr. C Miami leans into unhurried, European-style café culture on a garden patio, and matcha is treated as part of the ritual. You can order it hot, iced, or decaf. BANH, tucked inside Books & Books on Main Highway, is a bubble tea shop where you can sip a warm matcha between browsing shelves. Emissary on Mary St has matcha locals call "off the charts," and Navi Coffee & Flowers does signature matcha with pistachio, honey, or lavender notes. Black Sheep Coffee, the UK import that just landed at Grove Central, is also worth a stop.

Wynwood
The Coffee keeps its ceremonial-grade matcha simple and minimalist. Yoko Matcha, a dedicated matcha bar and cafe on NW 2nd Ave, will do it hot on request too. Sable Coffee pairs its matcha with a vinyl listening lounge, a genuinely different way to slow down with a hot cup.
Design District
Rosetta takes hot matcha especially seriously. Maman's Palm Court location whisks a classic Matcha Latte with your choice of milk, and their Papaya Matcha Lemonade is a seasonal favorite. Aura Matcha is also in the neighborhood, sourcing ceremonial-grade matcha directly from Japan. Bigface, founded by Miami Heat's Jimmy Butler, leans iced on the menu but the quality holds up hot too.

Miami Beach
Matcha Maven on Collins Ave is a 4.9-star dedicated matcha cafe, worth asking for it hot since matcha is genuinely the whole focus here. MARKET at The Miami Beach EDITION offers a subtly sweet matcha latte you can get hot. Café Standard at The Standard Spa also has matcha on the menu if you want a garden setting with your cup.
Downtown & Coral Gables
Crema Gourmet Coffee Bar has locations both Downtown and in Coral Gables with a full matcha menu built for lingering over. Caracas Bakery in Coral Gables serves fresh hot and iced matcha, best paired with their Venezuelan pastries.
Upper Eastside & Miami Shores
Oasis Cafe on NE 67th St has a genuinely deep matcha menu, including a Dirty Matcha with espresso mixed in. In Miami Shores, keep an eye out for the Bonsai Coffee Truck, a Japanese-inspired mobile cafe run by a Brazilian-Japanese and Argentinian duo, parked around 211 NE 97th St.
Worth the drive: Fort Lauderdale & Davie
Alma Matcha's original Atelier location (701 NW 5th Ave, Fort Lauderdale) is the one that started it all before the brand expanded, well-reviewed balanced lattes in flavors like salted maple and strawberry purée, though not exactly a budget option. In Davie, Crema Gourmet Coffee Bar has a full matcha menu if you're already in Broward.
Why we're obsessed with the ritual, not just the drink
Here's the thing about a good hot matcha: it's rarely just about the caffeine. It's the fifteen minutes of actually sitting down, decompressing, and usually doing it with someone. That's basically the entire philosophy behind Pilates & Lattes Club, just applied to matcha instead of coffee. Move together, then sit down together after. 🤍
Come solo, we promise you'll leave with new ones. This is open to everyone. 🎀
